Synthetic resins have been used in fabrication of molds and cores for heavy and individual castings since the sixties of the last century. Such cold curing systems are generally the products of reactions between combinations of furfuryl alcohol or phenol and urea with formaldehyde. Variations are based on polyurethanes.

The introduction of this process may doubtless be termed one of the greatest advances in the casting industry.

Furan Kaltharz/Kaltharz®

This classical all-purpose method for production of nearly all types of castings.

Phenol Kaltharz / Sinotherm®

Particularly suitable for production of individual heavy castings of steel, gray iron and ductile iron.

Resol-Ester / Sinotherm 200®

This method is used for high-quality steel castings.
